The Unique Mindset

Will Smith

Will Smith, an American rapper, actor, and producer has had great success in music, television, and film.  Some even consider him to be one of the most powerful men in Hollywood.   Among many awards and recognitions, he is the only actor to have eight consecutive films gross over $100 million in the box office.  Smith was born and raised in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While his mother was a school administrator and his father a refrigeration engineer, Will never applied or had any intention of going to college.  This goes to show, the path to greatness doesn’t always lie in our ability to receive formal education.  In an interview with Smith, he admits, a main reason for his success is not his talent, but his drive.  He makes a point, hard work and dedication overcome any lack of skill. Greatness is not this wonderful esoteric elusive god like feature that only the special among us will ever taste.  It’s something that exists in all of us.

Will Smith’s Unique Mindset

“The first step before anyone else in the world believes it, you have to believe it, say it to yourself, I know who I am, I know what I believe, that’s all I need to know!”

“He who says he can’t, and he who says he can, both are usually right!”

“If you’re going to be here in this world, at least make it GREAT stay, make a difference, make every group you come in contact with better”

“You HAVE to do good, You need to want to make the world a better place, Just because you are here!”

You only have one life, If you are not making someone’s life better, you’re just wasting time in this world”

“Make a choice, decide, and focus on what it’s going to be, who you’re going to be, how you’re going to do it!!”

“I don’t know what my calling is, but I want to be here for a bigger reason. I strive to be like the greatest people who have ever lived.”

“The fellow that can only see a week ahead is always the popular fellow, for he is looking with the crowd. But the one that can see years ahead, he has a telescope but he can’t make anybody believe that he has it.”

“The separation of talent and skill is one of the greatest misunderstood concepts for people who are trying to excel.  Talent you have naturally, skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft.”

If you know anyone who will benefit from this, take a moment to share this with them. You could make a difference in their life and help spread the Unique Mindset.
